There is nothing like a hot beach volleyball game, to heat up a summer day.
Since, today is the official first day of summer in the northern hemisphere, we thought we would focus on one of our favorite summertime activities – beach volleyball.
For not only is beach volleyball a great exercise, it's great to watch as those hot volleyball players compete for point in their new bikinis.
One of our favorite women volleyball players is actress and former Miss USA – Kenya Moore who recently stared in a movie which revolved around a women beach volleyball team - Cloud 9.
When interviewed by the producers of the movie Cloud 9, Kenya Moore relates, "I have played volleyball before.
I played in high school and I was really good.
I was on the varsity team. Cass Technical High School in Detroit.
My second year I pretty much excelled in it. It was a lot of fun. I love this game.
I love this game and I’ve been a fan of Gabrielle Reece for a long time and when I read that I had an opportunity to actually play in a game with her, even though it’s in a film, I was like, ‘Wow!’ This is so surreal, to be able to play with someone I idolized."
Gabrielle Reece played the part of Christina Hansen in the comedy volleyball movie – Cloud 9.
Burt Kearns, who wrote and produced Cloud 9 with Brett Hudson and Academy Award winner Albert S. Ruddy commented on Gabrielle Reece volleyball -"We knew she was impressive on the sand, but who could have expected her presence on screen? She's a powerful athlete who combines the elegance of Uma Thurman with the grace of Charlize Theron. And she does action better than both combined."
To which Gabrielle Reece added "Beach volleyball is probably the sexiest women's sport."
In addition to volleyball and the movie Cloud 9, Kenya Moore is recognized for her roles in the movies Waiting to Exhale (1995) Denis, Deliver Us from Eva (2003) Renee Johnson, Cloud 9 (2006) Champagne and her guest appearance roles on hit sitcoms, such as, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Living Single and The Steve Harvey Show.
